SEPA Direct Debit refund<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can refund an SDD transaction if it has been <em>CLEARED<\/em> using the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.centralpay.com\/documentation\/developpeurs\/refund\/\">Refund<\/a> service or from the SDD transaction details in the Merchant Portal. You can initiate a full or partial refund by entering an amount. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your customer will receive the funds in their bank account within 24 to 48 business hours after the transaction. Your payment account is debited immediately, so it must have sufficient funds to complete the transaction. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You cannot cancel a refund once it has been processed.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. SEPA Direct Debit rejections and contests<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SEPA direct debit rejections and contests are issued by your customers&#8217; banks. They are reflected in your CentralPay payment account as \u201cSDD Transaction Reversal\u201d operations. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>SEPA direct debit rejection<\/strong> is issued by the bank before the funds are made available to the creditor (within 2 to 5 days). Here are the main reasons for rejecting SEPA Core direct debits: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Insufficient funds: The debtor&#8217;s bank account does not have sufficient funds to complete the operation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Account closed: The debtor&#8217;s bank account has been closed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incorrect bank account information: The IBAN or BIC provided is incorrect, or the account is not denominated in euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A debtor may <strong>contest a SEPA direct debit<\/strong> up to 13 months after the transaction. This is the primary source of financial risk associated with this payment method. Here are the main reasons for contesting SEPA Core direct debits:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Transaction contested (within a maximum of 8 weeks):<\/strong> The SEPA direct debit is valid, but the customer contests the transaction with their bank for any reason. The transaction is fully refunded, and a contestation fee applies to the creditor. The deadline is 70 days for banks outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dispute due to lack of authorization (within 13 months max):<\/strong> The SEPA direct debit is invalid (lack of authorization, incorrect signatory, etc.), and the customer disputes the transactions.
